Uncorrected machine reading. This text was read by machine (Apple Vision OCR) from a scan of a newspaper page, and the page was cut into articles by machine, at the headlines found by their type size. Nothing has been corrected: expect misread words, text from a neighbouring article, and titles that are the machine reading of the headline, some of them only fragments. Quote from the scan, not from this page.
How this article was cut and titled: headline found by type size in the OCR geometry (split_tabloid.py); 6-6 of 6; machine-segmented newspaper page; uncorrected Vision OCR.

The fact that about 10,000 anti socialist forces have descended on the Peruvian and other embassies ir Havana has had little effect on the mass of Cuban workers.

In response to the lies and distortions whipped up in the Western press, they have mobilised in their millions to defend the Cuban goverrment and the revolution. They realise that the real problem is not one of a repressive government hold ing people in Cuba against their will but one of capitalist governments keeping people out.

They are only too willing for those who do not support the aims of the revolution to leave. Because. • contrary to the smear campaign whipped up by Washington and its allies, they know only too well that. as Castro explained earlier, "The struggle for socialism is voluntary; that was and is our view".
